Servants and Saints
Matthew 23:11 “The greatest among you will be your servant”
We are taking a short break from our book Newsletter Series to give a brief word of
appreciation. The next few months become our busiest around here leading all the way
through Easter. Nominations Committee meets to discuss position changes,
preparations are being made for festivals and Advent, the air conditioners are getting
ready for repairs, and All Saints Day will be upon us in early November. For all those that
we see, there are others at work getting us where we need to be in preparation and
service.
I want to take just a moment in the spirit of the season before all the busyness starts to
say thank you to those who have served in recent years. To say some of the work has
been challenging would be an understatement and there are those among us who have
not received an award or recognition but have served relentlessly. I thank God for you
servant, for all you have done to serve the Body in such meaningful ways, even when we
didn’t notice. Your dedication to God and the church is extraordinary and we would
not be here without your support.
I also want to thank the saints who have gone before us over the last 12 months that we
will memorialize in November. Letters will be going out soon that express our gratitude
to their families and ask if they would like their family members remembered in service;
those who we love but see no more. They gave so much to make us what we are and for
them, I could never express enough gratitude to show adequate appreciation. I only
hope that in serving you and one another we will honor their legacy.
Again, while it may be brief, please know that you are appreciated, and that the
leadership of the church are grateful for all that you are to make us who we are. You
are loved and we are thankful for your contributions to the success of our church, both
Servants and the Saints!
Keep The Faith,
Pastor Tommy
